The company feels it is important to increase the awareness of theatre and the creative process in Calgary. To that end, professional artists working on Theatre Junction plays will visit the school system for presentation and discussion about the script and production. Working with professional actors and then seeing them on-stage helps make the live theatre experience more engaging to students, helping to build a new, young and enthusiastic audience for the future.

It is equally important to increase the awareness of theatre and the creative process throughout the greater adult community, including senior citizens’ centres, community organizations and community theatre groups. Theatre Junction artists will visit these groups and engage them in theatre activity and discussion. Through increased knowledge of the art form, the adults may participate in the arts more – through classes, as audience member or volunteer, or in community or professional performance. Further personal development is a benefit at any age, and increased participation in theatre will enhance skills such as confidence, group collaboration and creative thinking.
